Terms of Service

This document is a starter template, not legal advice. Have a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction review it before relying on it.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to ReelMatch (the "Service"), operated by ReelMatch ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility & Geographic Scope

The Service is offered only to residents of the United States and Canada. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • One person or legal entity per account. Sharing credentials is prohibited.

4. Plans, Payments & Refunds

Creating a profile is free. Optional paid plans (e.g., Open Inbox for companies, Couple or Family for creators) are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your billing page; cancellation takes effect immediately and access ends at that moment. Charges are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, videos, messages, profile information). You grant ReelMatch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely to operate and promote the Service. You represent that you own or have the rights to everything you upload.

6. Prohibited Conduct

  • No illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or fraudulent content.
  • No content involving minors in any sexualized or unsafe context.
  • No scraping, reverse engineering, or circumventing rate limits or access controls.
  • No impersonation, spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial messages.
  • No use of the Service to violate FTC endorsement rules, advertising laws, or tax obligations.

7. Creator–Brand Engagements

ReelMatch is a discovery platform. Any agreement between a creator and a brand is solely between those parties. We are not a party to your campaigns, are not your employer or agent, and do not guarantee payment, performance, or content quality. You are responsible for your own taxes, contracts, and FTC #ad / #sponsored disclosures.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including software, design, and trademarks, is owned by ReelMatch and protected by US and Canadian intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works except as expressly permitted.

9. DMCA / Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@reelmatchagency.com including: (a) your signature, (b) the copyrighted work, (c) the infringing material and its URL, (d) your contact information, (e) a good-faith statement, and (f) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate. Counter-notices follow the standard DMCA 17 U.S.C. § 512 process.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, abuse, or legal risk. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REELMATCH WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) CAD $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ReelMatch harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. For users in the United States, this governing-law clause does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections in your state of residence. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, except where prohibited by applicable consumer law.

14A. Tax Registration & Sales Tax

ReelMatch's principal place of business is in Nova Scotia, Canada. We collect and remit applicable sales taxes based on the customer's billing address, including:

  • Canada: GST/HST (5%–15%) and Quebec QST where applicable, including 14% HST on sales to Nova Scotia, and 15% HST on sales to New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.
  • United States: state and local sales tax in jurisdictions where we have an economic nexus.

Tax shown at checkout is final; receipts itemize the tax collected for your records.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
